Yukon Solitaire
Yukon Solitaire
Yukon Solitaire begins with a specific tableau layout where all cards are dealt into seven columns, with most cards facing up from the start. Your primary objective is to move every card from these columns into the four foundation piles, organized by suit from Ace to King. Unlike standard Klondike, this variation allows for more flexibility in how you manipulate the columns, as you can move any group of face-up cards regardless of their sequence, provided the starting card of the group follows the placement rules.
Success in this card game depends on your ability to expose face-down cards and clear space in the tableau. You build columns downward in alternating colors, such as placing a red six on a black seven. Because you can move entire stacks even if they are not in a perfect descending order, you have more opportunities to reach the buried cards that are essential for completing the foundations. This mechanic changes the strategy significantly, requiring you to look several steps ahead to ensure you do not block necessary suits.
Each session of Yukon Solitaire starts fresh, offering a standalone puzzle for you to solve. The game concludes when all cards are successfully placed in the foundations or when no further legal moves are possible. By focusing on uncovering the hidden cards early, you increase your chances of clearing the board. This single-player experience emphasizes logical sorting and pattern recognition within a classic card framework.

Features
- Foundation building from Ace to King
- Alternating color column sequences
- Group card movement mechanics
- Full tableau visibility of face-up cards
How to Play
Start by examining the seven columns of cards on the tableau. Your goal is to move all cards to the four foundation slots at the top of the screen. Foundations must be built by suit, starting with the Ace and continuing up to the King. You can move any face-up card to another column if it is one rank lower and a different color than the card it is being placed upon.
Unlike other solitaire games, you can move a card even if there are other cards on top of it that are not in sequence. Simply click and drag the card you want to move, and the entire stack above it will follow. This allows you to reach face-down cards more quickly. When a face-down card is at the top of a column, click it to flip it over and bring it into play.
Continue moving cards between columns to reveal hidden cards and build your foundation piles. If a column becomes completely empty, you can only place a King in that space. The game is won when all cards are sorted into their respective suits in the foundations. If you run out of possible moves before the foundations are full, the session ends.
