Stick Runner
Stick Runner
Stick Runner is a reaction-based game where the primary goal is to navigate a single track filled with unpredictable obstacles. You control a stickman who must constantly adapt to the changing terrain by either jumping over hurdles or sliding underneath them. The obstacles vary significantly in size and length, meaning you cannot rely on a single rhythm to succeed. Instead, you must watch the screen closely to determine which action is required to keep the stickman moving forward. The game starts with a straightforward path, but the frequency and complexity of the obstacles increase as you progress.
One of the defining mechanics is the squatting system, which allows the stickman to slide under high obstacles. Unlike jumping, squatting is governed by a time limit. A red progress bar appears whenever you initiate a slide, indicating how much longer you can remain in the crouched position. Once this bar empties, the stickman automatically stands back up. This adds a layer of strategy to the gameplay, as you must time your slides perfectly to ensure you don't stand up while still underneath an obstacle. Managing this resource is just as important as your jumping accuracy.
Persistence is a key part of the experience, as the game tracks your progress across sessions. This allows you to build on your previous efforts and aim for higher scores over time. The single-track design ensures that the focus remains entirely on your mechanical skill and your ability to process visual information quickly. Because the obstacles appear randomly, no two runs are exactly the same, requiring you to stay alert and ready for any combination of high and low hurdles that the track might present.
As a browser-based title, the game is designed for quick access and immediate play. The simple two-button control scheme makes it easy to understand the basics, but the increasing speed of the track provides a significant challenge for those looking to master the game. Every successful jump and slide contributes to your overall performance, making each run a test of endurance and focus. The stickman's survival depends entirely on your ability to manage the squat timer and react to the random obstacles that appear on the track.

How to Play
To begin your run in Stick Runner, you must prepare to react to a series of obstacles that appear on a single track. Your stickman moves forward automatically, and your job is to ensure he doesn't hit any hurdles. When you see a low obstacle on the ground, press the Space bar to jump over it. Timing is critical, as jumping too early or too late will result in a collision that ends your run. The obstacles come in various lengths, so you must adjust your jump timing to clear the entire hazard.
For obstacles that are positioned higher up, you must use the slide mechanic. Press the Down arrow key to make the stickman squat and slide underneath. While sliding, pay close attention to the red progress bar that appears on the screen. This bar indicates how much time you have left in the squatting position. If the bar runs out while you are still under an obstacle, the stickman will stand up and hit it. You must time your slide so that you enter the squat just before the obstacle and exit it only once you are safely on the other side. Your goal is to survive for as long as possible to achieve a high score.
