Sint Nicolaas

Sint Nicolaas is a platforming adventure rooted in the Dutch tradition of Sinterklaas. The story begins with a crisis: thieves have stolen Sint's sack of presents and gingerbread cookies. As they fled, the items began falling out, scattering gifts across the rooftops. Your mission is to help Sint Nicolaas recover every lost item and deliver them to the correct chimneys before the sun rises. This task requires careful navigation across dangerous heights, where slippery surfaces and sharp TV antennas pose constant threats to your progress.

Each level functions as a puzzle where order and timing are paramount. Chimneys are marked with specific colors and numbers, indicating which presents they need and how many cookies must be dropped inside. While Sint can carry a long line of presents behind him, he can only deliver the one at the very front of his queue. This mechanic forces you to plan your route carefully, either collecting gifts in the specific order they need to be delivered or searching for the chimney that matches your current lead item. If you manage to clear a level with enough time to spare, you may even find your way into a bonus stage for extra challenges.

Environmental hazards and local wildlife add layers of difficulty to your rooftop quest. Birds will actively attack Sint, attempting to steal the hard-earned presents and cookies he has collected. While you have the ability to jump on these birds to neutralize the threat, the game encourages a more peaceful approach by offering extra points for leaving them unharmed. You must also contend with the physics of the rooftops; some areas are slippery, making precise jumps more difficult, while antennas can cause damage if you aren't careful with your positioning.

To aid in your journey, keep an eye out for the chocolate letters S, I, N, and T. Collecting the full set of these letters grants an extra life, providing a safety net for the more treacherous levels. The game tracks your time at the bottom of the screen, emphasizing the urgency of completing your deliveries before dawn. Each level presents a new layout of rooftops and chimneys, requiring you to adapt your platforming skills to ensure every child receives their gifts on time.
