Sieger places you in the role of a siege commander tasked with dismantling historical fortifications spanning 2500 years of warfare. The primary challenge involves identifying the structural weaknesses of various castles to eliminate defenders while ensuring the safety of hostages trapped within the walls. Beginners often make the mistake of firing at the first visible target, which frequently leads to structural collapses that harm the very people you are meant to rescue. A single misplaced shot can trigger a chain reaction, causing heavy stone blocks to crush hostages or leave defenders standing in unreachable sections of the ruins.

Efficiency serves as the core metric for success across the 28 main sieges and the final bonus encounter. Using too many projectiles reduces your standing, moving you away from the coveted Brilliant Victory medal toward lesser Clear or Decisive ratings. Another common error is ignoring the treasure chests placed within the fortifications. While killing defenders is the primary objective, failing to loot these chests means missing out on the full rewards available for each siege. You must balance the need for total destruction with the precision required to knock a chest loose without burying it under tons of debris.

Beyond the main campaign, the game includes a Level Editor for creating custom structural puzzles. This tool allows for the placement of supporting blocks, defenders, and hostages to test different architectural vulnerabilities. You can also access the People's Empire to engage with content designed by other players, providing a variety of layouts that extend beyond the historical campaign. Each session requires a fresh look at the physics of the current castle, as the weight and placement of blocks dictate how the structure will fall.

Progress is tracked as you move through the timeline of sieges, with the final bonus level remaining locked until every previous castle has been successfully taken. This structure encourages a methodical approach to each puzzle, ensuring that you understand the physics of collapse before moving on to more complex, multi-layered fortifications. The focus remains entirely on the interaction between your projectiles and the structural integrity of the enemy's defenses.
