PuzzleGuys Hearts
PuzzleGuys Hearts brings the classic evasion-style card game to your desktop, focusing on strategic card play and careful management of your hand. In this version, you are matched against three computer-controlled opponents, requiring you to anticipate their moves while minimizing your own risk. The primary objective is to avoid taking certain cards during tricks, specifically the Hearts and the Queen of Spades, which carry penalty values that can quickly end your run if you are not careful.
Success in this game depends on your ability to track which cards have been played and managing the suits in your hand. Because this is a trick-taking game, you must follow the lead suit whenever possible. Strategy involves deciding when to play high cards to win a trick and when to slough off dangerous cards to avoid accumulating points. The computer opponents provide a consistent challenge, forcing you to refine your tactics with every hand dealt.
This digital adaptation emphasizes the tactical depth of the original card game without the need for a physical deck or additional players. Every round is a fresh start, allowing you to test different approaches to the 'evasion' mechanic. By focusing on the cards remaining in play and the tendencies of your AI rivals, you can work toward mastering the nuances of one of the most popular card games in the world.

How to Play
To start playing, review the detailed rules provided within the game menu to understand the specific scoring for Hearts and the Queen of Spades. Once the match begins, you will be dealt a hand of cards. Use your mouse to select and play a card when it is your turn. You must follow the suit of the card that was led if you have it in your hand. If you do not have a card of that suit, you may play any other card.
The objective is to avoid winning tricks that contain penalty cards. Each Heart card is worth one point, and the Queen of Spades is worth thirteen points. Since the goal is to have the lowest score, you should strategically play your high cards when there is no risk of taking penalties, or use them to 'dump' penalty cards on your opponents when they lead a suit you lack.
Pay close attention to the cards played by the three computer opponents. Tracking which high cards have already been used will help you determine when it is safe to play your own. The game continues through multiple rounds of trick-taking until a player reaches the point limit, at which time the player with the lowest total score is declared the winner.
