Merge Race 3D is an arcade-style running game that centers on a unique animal-transformation mechanic. Instead of simply running a standard course, you must adapt your character's abilities by merging with different animal traits to overcome specific environmental obstacles. The game presents a variety of terrains, including water for swimming, walls for climbing, and open stretches for sprinting. Success depends entirely on your ability to select the correct animal power at the right moment to maintain your lead in the race.

The gameplay requires you to choose between several animal skills, such as the swimming proficiency of a dolphin or turtle, the flight of an eagle, the climbing speed of a frog, or the raw power of a rhino. Each animal provides a distinct advantage that corresponds to a section of the track. For example, if the race enters a body of water, switching to a swimming animal is necessary to avoid slowing down. This constant shifting of forms creates a dynamic racing environment where strategy is just as important as speed.

Designed for desktop play, the game uses a sliding control method to navigate the character and make selections. The 3D environments are built to test your reaction time as you transition between different movement types.
