Inferno. Meltdown

Inferno. Meltdown puts you in direct control of a robotic fire-fighter tasked with suppressing dangerous blazes across a variety of urban environments. You will navigate through bowling alleys, cinemas, and gas-works, using a combination of platforming movement and precision aiming. The core of the experience involves managing your water supply while navigating environments that are actively burning down around you. You must move quickly to rescue people trapped in the flames while dealing with environmental hazards like oil barrels and petrol pumps that can explode upon contact with fire.

Precision movement is required as you use the WASD or cursor keys to climb ladders and jump across gaps. Your primary tool is a high-pressure hose, controlled with the mouse, which allows you to douse flames from a distance. A unique movement mechanic allows you to point the hose downward and spray while jumping, effectively turning the water pressure into a makeshift jetpack to reach higher platforms. This verticality is essential for reaching trapped civilians and navigating the crumbling infrastructure of each level.

Strategic interaction with the environment is necessary to prevent the fire from spreading uncontrollably. You can deploy sprinklers using the Space bar to create defensive barriers that hold back the flames. Additionally, you must watch out for industrial fans that push fire through air-ducts into new areas. Locating and spraying fan switches is the only way to disable these hazards. As you progress, you collect coins scattered throughout the levels, which are used to upgrade your firebot's capabilities for tougher challenges.

Each level presents a race against time as the structural integrity of the building fails. The dynamic burning mechanic means that platforms you once stood on may disappear if the fire is not managed correctly. You can adjust the visual quality at any time by pressing Q, or restart a level immediately with the R key if the situation becomes unsalvageable. This is a focused single-player mission where your ability to balance fire suppression with platforming agility determines your success.
