A typical first run begins with the bird in mid-air, requiring immediate input to maintain altitude and initiate the first strike. Unlike standard flight games that penalize contact, this experience rewards the player for smashing through barriers using a dedicated Crush Power mechanic. The core loop involves navigating the sky, identifying destructible objects, and timing attacks to maintain momentum while building up a specialized energy meter.

As the bird progresses through the environment, the Crush Power meter fills with every successful impact. Reaching full capacity triggers the Mega Crush, a screen-clearing event that removes all standard obstacles in the immediate vicinity. This mechanic allows for aggressive navigation through dense clusters of objects that would otherwise be impassable. Players must distinguish between standard destructible items and indestructible red obstacles. These red barriers end a run upon contact unless a shield power-up is currently active, adding a layer of tactical avoidance to the otherwise destructive gameplay.

Different environments and conditions are presented through specific modes including Mayhem, Rampage, Apocalypse, and Survival. Each mode alters the density and frequency of obstacles, requiring adjustments in how frequently the Crush attack is deployed.
