Casual Checkers
Casual Checkers
Casual Checkers focuses on the deliberate, tactical movement of pieces across the board. You interact with the game using your mouse to select and place your pieces, emphasizing a direct connection between your decisions and the board state. This version follows the standard English and American Checkers rules, often referred to as Draughts. The pace is entirely up to you, allowing for a relaxed environment where you can think through every potential jump and capture without external pressure.
Because this is a single-player experience against a computer opponent, you can test your strategies in a controlled setting. The game does not use flying kings, meaning your kinged pieces move one square at a time diagonally, staying true to the classic board game format. Every session is a fresh start, providing a clean slate for you to refine your opening moves and endgame tactics. The focus remains strictly on the board and the pieces, offering a straightforward way to enjoy this traditional pastime on your desktop.

Features
- Classic Draughts rules
- Single-player computer opponent
- Desktop-optimized interface
- Traditional diagonal movement
How to Play
To begin, use your mouse to select one of your pieces. You move diagonally forward onto an empty dark square. If an opponent's piece is in an adjacent square and the square behind it is empty, you must jump over it to capture it.
When one of your pieces reaches the furthest row on the opponent's side, it becomes a king. In this version, kings can move one square diagonally in any direction, including backward. The game ends when you have captured all of the computer's pieces or when the computer has no legal moves left to make.

Tips & Tricks
- Control the center of the board to limit your opponent's movement options.
- Keep your back row intact as long as possible to prevent the computer from getting a king.
