Among Chen Bots 2 begins with your character standing at the start of a mechanical gauntlet, where the immediate goal is to gather blue energy boxes. This sequel expands on the foundation of the original series, placing you back into a 2D world filled with pixelated hazards and robotic sentries. As soon as you move, you must account for the placement of spikes and the timing of giant rotating blades. The primary loop involves navigating these dangers to secure every energy box in the area, which is the only way to unlock the exit door and advance to the next stage.

Movement is handled through standard directional inputs, but the double jump remains your most vital tool for survival. Many energy boxes are positioned in spots that a single jump cannot reach, requiring a second mid-air leap to gain the necessary height. This mechanic is also used to dodge bullets fired by enemy units and to clear wide pits of spikes. The game features 8 levels in total, and as you progress, the density of enemies like flying bots and stationary turrets increases, making each subsequent level a more demanding test of your platforming precision.
