Akari
Akari
Akari centers on the placement of light bulbs to illuminate a grid-based board. You interact with the puzzle by selecting cells to place your light sources. The goal is to ensure every white cell is lit by at least one bulb. Bulbs send light horizontally and vertically across the board, but this light is blocked by black cells. You must be careful not to place two bulbs where they can shine on each other, as this creates a conflict that must be resolved.
Strategic thinking is required when dealing with numbered black cells. These numbers indicate exactly how many bulbs must be placed in the adjacent horizontal and vertical cells. If a cell is marked with a zero, no bulbs can be placed next to it. If it is marked with a four, all four adjacent sides must have a bulb. This logic creates a chain reaction of decisions where one placement dictates the possibilities for the rest of the board.
The experience is purely logic-driven, removing distractions to focus on the puzzle-solving process. You will navigate through various board configurations that test your ability to visualize light paths and satisfy numerical constraints. The satisfaction comes from the moment the entire board is illuminated correctly, following all the established rules of placement and light distribution.

How to Play
To play Akari, you must place light bulbs in white cells to light up the entire board. Click or tap a cell to place a bulb. A bulb illuminates all cells in its row and column until the light hits a black cell. You win when every white cell is lit and no two bulbs are shining on each other.
Pay close attention to the black cells with numbers. These numbers tell you exactly how many bulbs must be placed in the four adjacent cells (up, down, left, and right). For example, a '3' means three of the four surrounding spots must contain a bulb. Use these clues to determine where bulbs must go and where they are forbidden.
Work through the grid methodically. If you place a bulb that violates a rule, simply click it again to remove it. The game requires you to balance the needs of the numbered cells with the requirement to light up every corner of the board.
